Second Server Drive Failure
A second hard drive failure occurred on the 23'd of December. The sever was taken offline for one day during the rebuild phase. It seems that the drives being used fail after one year. A more robust drive has been used for the replacement and additional cooling has been added to the hard drive array...

Re: EcoSphere Self Enclosed Aquarium
Another update with the ecosphere. The plants have continued growing faster than expected. Here is a video showing the results:

As you can see, the plants are doing very well, the algae bloom has almost fully recovered, and all the shrimp and fish are healthy. More updates to come!

Electric Longboard Truck Failure Analysis
Recently, I had the rear truck on my V1 boosted board fail while a friend was riding. It was very surprising, to say the least, and I believe I am the only one to have snapped a truck on the V1 board. The board had a little over 2000 miles on it when it failed and Boosted covered it like they do all...

Re: EcoSphere Self Enclosed Aquarium
A major update with this project. I have identified the problem with the plants. They had a nutrient deficiency mainly of Nitrogen and also some magnesium. This was identified by yellowing leaves, stunted growth, and spots in the leaves. To mitigate the problem, a nutrient additive was added to the ...

Hurricane Irma Downtime
Hello all,
We experienced a few days of downtime due to hurricane Irma knocking out power and internet. Luckily the server location sustained no damage and therefore there was no data loss. The website now runs as normal.

Re: Enertion VESC-X First Look
Thanks. I would also take a look at the VESC 6.0. I have been evaluating two of them and I am blown away by the quality, performance, and reliability of them. I should be doing a post about them soon.
Cheers!

Re: Arduino VESC Remote
I am currently developeding on the same TI CC2650 MCU. Yeah CCS is kinda anyoing but I'm getting used to it. They do have some nice tutorials under simple link academy. I've been focused on finding a display driver library to use with my oled module. How far have you gotten with the Bluetooth progra...

Re: Arduino VESC Remote
Hello, Yes, I have been working on getting the PCB design finalized. Like I said before, I am switching away from arduino to a standard BLE MCU and IDE. I am currently working on porting my code over to the new module. I am testing and once I have verified my circuit, I will have the PCB prototypes ...

Re: Arduino VESC Remote
An update on the BLE module. Although I was successful in flashing a different firmware on it that supported central mode, this module is proving to be very difficult to use as a serial passthrough. I have started looking at other options and have decided to move away from arduino all together and t...
